Holland Varken Quality
First Holland Varken Quality certificate awarded
VOB participants Cees and Jeanette van den Broek in Oud-Gastel were the first to be awarded the Holland Varken Quality certificate on 24 October 2025. This presentation marks the official start of the transition to the updated supply chain quality system. Holland Varken Quality is an initiative of the entire pig sector. IKB Varken – Kiwa Verin
As of 1 November 2025, IKB Varken will be replaced by Holland Varken Quality. As a pig farmer, you do not need to take any action yourself; this transition will take place automatically.
A transition period applies to existing IKB Varken certificate holders. Certificates issued up to and including October 2025 remain valid until the date stated on the certificate. During this period, farms will automatically receive the new Holland Varken Quality certificate as soon as the first audit under the new scheme has been successfully completed. This gives certifying bodies time to visit and transfer all farms.
In addition, both certificate holders and certification bodies have until 31 December 2026 to implement the name change in their own records and quality manuals.
