That is why Vee&Logistiek Nederland and the Dutch Pig Farmers’ Association (POV) recently jointly launched the flyer “Smart and Animal-Friendly Loading of Pigs”.

The careful loading and unloading of pigs is a shared responsibility of pig farmers, livestock transporters, and buyers. By working together effectively, making clear agreements, and addressing each other when necessary, a calm atmosphere is created on the farm, with greater attention paid to both animals and people.

The flyer contains eight practical tips to make the loading of pigs run more smoothly and efficiently, with a focus on animal welfare and worker comfort, without requiring major investments.
