PRRS monitoring via the slaughter line

Pig farmers participating in GD’s slaughter line sampling scheme via Compaxo and Vion can now easily add PRRS monitoring to their existing sampling routine. This aligns with the new requirements under Holland Varken Quality, which stipulate quarterly PRRS monitoring via blood testing.

By adding PRRS monitoring to the slaughter line, sufficient blood is automatically collected for the National PRRS Plan. After three consecutive quarters, the farm’s PRRS status can be determined. Please note: the option to collect samples via the slaughter line applies only to farms with a C or D status. Farms with a different status must have the necessary blood samples taken on-farm.

The GD will send all farms with active slaughter line participation a letter containing a registration card to arrange PRRS monitoring at the slaughter line immediately. Register as soon as possible!
