If you want to be able to claim App-free status quickly, you can opt for the abbreviated intake procedure. To do so, the 10 oldest gilts and 20 sows must be sampled for three consecutive months and tested at GD using the ApxIV test. If the results of these tests are favourable (and your vet also confirms that there are no clinical signs of App on the farm and no other unfavourable results are known), the App-free status will appear on vee-online under the heading “participant in the App-Scan”. This status will then be maintained in accordance with the App Scan regulations, which you will receive after registration.

This sampling for the intake has been available since January. The App-free status can be granted in March at the earliest to farms that started sampling in January.
