1. Reducing CO₂ emissions through low-carbon-footprint soya

Within the pig and chicken supply chains, we are switching to soya with a low carbon footprint. This will reduce our overall CO₂ emissions and take us another step towards a more sustainable supply chain.

2. RFID ready for the supply chain of the future

With RFID, we can track animals at an individual level. This helps us to:

• reliably guarantee payments for long tails,
• work towards loading and delivering without slaughter crates,
• accurately measure animal health, animal welfare and CO₂ reduction.

For businesses, RFID will eventually mean less administrative burden, better animal data, more efficient operations and delivery without slaughter cans.

For this pilot, Jumbo is providing the following free of charge:

• RFID chips
• equipment (readers and, if necessary, a weighing scale)

A limited number of pigs have been included in the pilot.

What we ask of participants is the time to record the necessary data. In return, you will be the first in line to be able to supply without slaughter certificates as soon as this becomes possible.
